Proz was set up to provides professional translators or translation companies for who need translation services.

I want to join as freelance translator, it's free?

Unfortunately, Proz membership is not free. To gain full access you must subscribe. Subscription fee depending on the type of membership you choose.

So, what are benefits offered if I join?

• You as freelance translator will get full access to the blue board database of translation clients.

• You as freelance translator or interpreter given freedom by Proz to determine the minimum price per translation that you do. Proz only as service provider.

• Proz provides some tools like : invoicing, translator group buy, rates calculator.

In addition, Proz still provide convenience to clients and translators, where Proz provide the services called "Turn-key translation". This service will guarantee your payment as freelance translator and also will ensure that client's project is completed. To use these services, there are some criteria applied by Proz.

You as freelance translator will be charged by Proz for each translation :

1. Rates charged per word

2. rates charged per hour

How and when I get paid?

Before you can receive a payment, you are required to create a Proz wallet account, and required deposit for it. Payment will be made to your ProZ wallet ( in 15 business days after your translation project is done and approved). Payment only in U.S. dollars.

Then, you can request to withdraw funds from your Proz wallet at any time. Withdrawal process from your Proz wallet to your payment account set (e.g PayPal, Wire transfer, Check, Moneybookers, Western Union) normally do at the end of the month with no charge.

I think, the terms of membership are used very complicated and costly. But, quite promising. :)
